What to Expect

First and Second Visit:

We recognize that many patients who walk into our clinic hope to understand their problem and understand why they are experiencing what they are experiencing. For this reason, we require a thorough examination of your health history to fully understand the complexity of your problem. Your initial 2 visits would be approximately 45 min a session. We will explain every step of the process in advance and lay out all expectations ahead of time. With doing so, we hope to eliminate all surprises and make this a comfortable and enjoyable experience for you and/or your family member.

We recommend you arrive fifteen minutes early for your first visit to allow you time to complete the required paperwork.

First Visit:

What to expect during your first Chiropractic visit. A careful examination and analysis will be performed to detect any abnormalities which maybe causing your problem. This will consist of:

  •  History consultation
  •  Postural analysis (Computerized Analysis)
  •  Range of motion analysis
  •  Identify spinal misalignments/subluxations
  •  Palpation
  •  Orthopedic and neurological exams if necessary*
  •  X-ray (Additional diagnostic imaging if necessary*)
Why do we x-ray?

Both visible light and X-rays consist of photon particles conveyed over electromagnetic energy. When carefully controlled, this energy can be used to reveal the internal structure of the body. We find these pictures quite helpful:

  • Provide a structural record of your spine
  • Rule out cancer, disease or other pathologies
  • Locate fractures or other signs of trauma
  • Identify evidence of long term spinal decay
  • Confirm other examination findings
Second Visit:

Report of Finding to answer the following questions.
A detailed explanation of:

  • What the problem is
  • What is causing and contributing to this problem
  • What can be done about it
  • What is to be expected on your road to recovery
Regular Visits

After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, patients sometimes become concerned that every visit will be of equal length.  Actually, a typical office visit may require just five to ten minutes. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit to Active Life Chiropractic lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust your spine to correct the misaligned bones and remove neurological interference and get you on your way.

Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit, and you can lose the momentum necessary to make improvements.
Our staff of ActiveLife Chiropractic recognizes your time is valuable. So at ActiveLife Chiropractic, we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.

PHASE 1: RELIEF CARE

If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

PHASE 2: CORRECTIVE CARE

During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical to need care 4-8 times per month for 6-12 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

PHASE 3: WELLNESS CARE

Once your body has fully healed, it is important to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.
